THE BEST is a new series of watch blogs where I rank my top 5 watches for a specific category with 1 honorable mention. Today we are talking about the 5 best green watches.
Honorable mention: Studio Underd0g Mint Ch0c Chip

The Studio Underd0g Mint Ch0c Chip earns the honorable mention spot for its playful yet thoughtful design. This isn’t just a novelty piece — it’s a well-executed watch with deliberate details throughout.
The sandblasted mint dial features a gradient effect, transitioning from a darker green at the edges to a lighter shade at the center, mimicking the appearance of mint ice cream. The “chocolate chip” indices and cookie-inspired outer rim and subdial complete the theme without feeling gimmicky. Every element works together cohesively, making this more than just a fun conversation starter.

At $725, the Mint Ch0c Chip is an excellent choice for collectors seeking a bold pop of color with personality. This is for the enthusiasts who appreciates quality execution in a playful package.
IWC Ingenieur Automatic 40 "Sonny Hayes"

Coming in at number 5 is the IWC Ingenieur Automatic 40 “Sonny Hayes” edition. Released in collaboration with the new F1 film starring Brad Pitt, this piece draws its inspiration from the vintage Ingenieur worn by Pitt’s character in the movie — though this isn’t the exact watch you’ll see on screen. Brad Pitt’s character wears a more vintage representation of the reference, but the Sonny Hayes edition captures the same spirit with its olive green colorway translated into IWC’s modern Ingenieur design. The standout feature is undoubtedly that olive green checkered dial. This peice has loads of character which earns its spot on this list.
Retailing at $14,300 and limited to just 1,000 pieces, if it wasn't so expensive compared to the other IWC Ingenieur models it would probably be higher on this list.
Technical details:
Case diameter: 40mm
Case thickness: 10.7mm
Lug to lug: 47.5mm
Water resistance: 10 bar
Movement: calibre 32111 automatic self winding
Power reserve: 120 hours
Accuracy: +\- 3-5 seconds/day
Seiko alpinist
At number 4 is the Seiko Prospex Alpinist SPB121, and at $725 it’s very accessible compared to other watches on this list and it’s one of the most popular Seiko models. I really like the combination of the dark green sunray-finish dial with gold indices, and the brown leather strap ties the whole look together with a warm, vintage feel. The rotating inner compass bezel is a fun and unique complication — one that most owners will rarely rely on for actual navigation, but it adds character and nods to the watch’s heritage as a tool built for Japanese mountaineers. For the money, it’s hard to argue with what Seiko has put together here.
Technical details:
Case diameter: 39.5mm
Case thickness: 13.2mm
Lug width: 20mm
Lug to lug: 46.4mm
Water resistance: 20 bar
Movement: Seiko in-house Caliber 6R35, automatic with manual winding and hacking seconds
Power reserve: ~70 hours
Accuracy: +25/-15 seconds/day
Rolex GMT-Master II “Sprite”

Number 3 is the Rolex GMT-Master II “Sprite”. This watch needs no introduction, The GMT-Master II is one of the most iconic sports watches ever made and probably the first watch you think of when you think GMT. The Sprite specifically earns its spot on the best green watch list because of Rolex’s green colorway on the bezel. The black and green bezel is classic Rolex and the matching green on the GMT hand pulls the design together. The primary dial is black, which means the green accent does just enough to make a statement without taking over. That restraint is actually what makes it so versatile and easy to pair with different outfits.
What really sets the Sprite apart from the rest of the GMT-Master II lineup is the lefty configuration — the crown sits on the left side of the case rather than the traditional right. It’s a genuinely unique design choice in a collection that doesn’t change much, and it makes the watch stand out on the wrist in a subtle but distinct way. At $12,500 retail, it’s a fair price for what you’re getting.

Technical details:
Case diameter: 40mm
Case thickness: 12mm
Lug width: 20mm
Lug to lug: 48.5mm
Water resistance: 100m
Movement: Rolex Cal. 3285, in-house automatic, COSC + Rolex Superlative Chronometer certified
Power reserve: ~70 hours
Accuracy: +2/-2 seconds/day
Breitling Premier B09 Pistachio
The Breitling Premier B09 Chronograph 40 in pistachio green comes in at number 2. Released in 2021, this watch flew somewhat under the radar at launch — but if it dropped today, it would be in the conversation for watch of the year without question. That creamy, soft pistachio green dial is unlike anything else in the market. The recently released Rolex Oyster Perpetual in a similar pistachio green comes close, but in my opinion the Premier edges it out and since this watch was released first, its earns its spot on this list.

One of the common criticisms of Breitling is that their watches tend to skew large — 42mm and above — which can be a dealbreaker for people with smaller wrists. The Premier B09 sidesteps that entirely with a 40mm case that sits comfortably on virtually any wrist size, which is a big part of what makes it so accessible. Paired with the brown alligator leather strap, the whole package just works. Retailing for $8,750, it may seem like a lot, but it’s an in-house, COSC-certified manually wound chronograph from one of Switzerland’s great watchmaking houses.
Technical details:
Case diameter: 40mm
Case thickness: 13mm
Lug width: 20mm
Lug to lug: 47mm
Water resistance: 100m
Movement: Breitling in-house Cal. B09, manual winding, COSC-certified chronometer
Power reserve: ~70 hours
Accuracy: -4/+6 seconds/day
Rolex Day-Date Green Ombré Dial
Rounding out the top spot on our list is the Rolex Day-Date with the green ombré dial. This is the best green watch, one of my grail watches, I love this watch. What makes the dial so special is how the ombré treatment works: it opens with Rolex’s iconic green at the center and gradually transitions to a deep black edge.
Depending on the lighting, the dial can shift from a powerful pop of green in bright light to almost an entirely black dial in dimmer lighting — I find this range fascinating.

Gold and green have always worked together, but Rolex’s specific shade of green against their warm yellow gold is on another level. The Day-Date complication itself — displaying both the day of the week and the date in full — is one of the most practically useful complications in watchmaking. At $43,700 it’s the most expensive watch on this list, but for many collectors, like myself, this is the ultimate grail.

Technical details:
Case diameter: 36mm
Case thickness: 12mm
Lug width: 20mm
Lug to lug: 44mm
Water resistance: 100m
Movement: Rolex Cal. 3255, in-house automatic, COSC + Rolex Superlative Chronometer certified
Power reserve: ~70 hours
Accuracy: -2/+2 seconds/day
